Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup white onion chopped
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion chopped
  • 1/4 cup green bell pepper chopped
  • 1/4 cup red bell pepper chopped
  • 1 tbls. garlic minced
  • 2 cans tomato paste
  • 3 cans tomato sauce
  • 1 large can diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 tbls. white sugar
  • 2 tbls. oregano
  • 2 tbls. basil
  • 1 tbsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp rosemary
  • 1 tsp. thyme
  • 2 tsp. salt

Instructions
 

  • Heat a large pot to medium heat.  Combine onions, peppers and garlic with olive oil and saute briefly mixing until oil has coated all the vegetables. Pour in remaining ingredients.  Bring to boil.  Reduce heat to low, and simmer covered for 4-5 hours. I like to add meatballs and hot Italian sausage to my sauce while it simmers.
