Pizza Sauce

Ingredients
  

  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 package fresh basil chopped
  • 1 package fresh oregano leaves chopped
  • 1 med. white onion sliced
  • 6-8 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 T. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 large mushrooms sliced
  • 2 T. extra virgin olive oil

Instructions
 

  • In a skillet on low heat, combine: olive oil, onion, mushroom and garlic. Cook until onions are translucent. Remove onions and mushrooms, but keep the oil. Add remaining ingredients to oil and bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for at least 20 minutes. Makes enough sauce for about two cookie sheet size pizzas.
